Embed a Wheel on Your Website
Copy one line of code to put a working spinner wheel on your site. No account, no sign-up and no licence fee.
You can put a working spinning wheel on your own website by pasting one line of code. It runs inside an iframe, so it cannot clash with your theme, your scripts or your plugin versions. No account, no API key, no licence fee, and no limit on how many pages you use it on.
What people embed it for
- **Classroom pages and lesson plans** — a name picker that selects a student fairly, on the page where the lesson lives.
- **School and club websites** — a chore rota, a duty wheel, or a "who goes first" picker for fixtures.
- **Blogs and resource sites** — a decision wheel or prize wheel that makes a post interactive instead of a wall of text.
- **Event and party pages** — a prize wheel visitors can spin themselves, without you running it.
- **Streamers and community pages** — a dare wheel or truth-or-dare wheel the audience can see and spin.
How to add it
- Choose a wheel from the picker on this page.
- Set the width and height. For a responsive embed, replace the width value with 100%.
- Click Copy code.
- Paste it into your site: a Custom HTML block in WordPress, an Embed block in Squarespace or Wix, a Custom Liquid section in Shopify, or Insert → Embed in Google Sites.
- Save and preview. The wheel is live on your page immediately.
Recommended sizes
- **Full-width page section:** width 100%, height 600. This is the most reliable on phones and desktops.
- **Sidebar or narrow column:** width 350, height 420. The wheel stays readable but tight.
- **Presentation or classroom projector:** width 800, height 700.
- **Avoid** anything under 300 pixels wide — the segments become too small to read.
Using your own options inside an embed
The embed loads whatever wheel the iframe points at. Build the wheel you want on Fortune Wheels, save it, and use its share link as the iframe source. Anything you put on that wheel — names, chores, prizes, colours, images — appears in the embed. If you later edit the saved wheel, the embedded version updates too, because it is loading the same wheel rather than a copy.
Why the attribution link stays
There is a small "Create your own wheel" link beneath the widget. It is what keeps the tool free to run and free of a paywall, and removing it breaks the terms of use. It is one line of small text under the wheel, not an overlay, and it does not cover the widget. If you need a version without it, we do not offer one — the alternative would be charging for the embed, which we would rather not do.
What the embed does not do
- It does not slow down the rest of your page — the iframe loads independently of your content.
- It does not send your visitors to us unless they click the attribution link.
- It does not require cookies from your side, and it does not read your page.
- It will not work if your site strips iframes via a Content-Security-Policy. If the widget appears blank, check your CSP allows framing from fortune-wheels.com.
Troubleshooting a blank embed
- Check the iframe height — a height of 0 or a collapsed container is the most common cause.
- Check your Content-Security-Policy permits iframes from https://www.fortune-wheels.com.
- Some page builders strip iframes in their HTML block. Try a dedicated Embed/Custom Code block instead of a text block.
- If you paste into a CMS that escapes HTML, switch the block to raw HTML mode.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the embeddable wheel free?
Yes. Embedding is free, needs no account and has no limit on the number of pages you put it on.
Do I have to keep the attribution link?
Yes. The small link beneath the widget is what keeps the tool free and free of a paywall. Removing it breaks the terms of use.
Will the embed slow down my website?
The wheel loads inside its own iframe, independently of your page content, so it does not block your page from rendering. Avoid placing several wheels on a single page.
Can I embed a wheel with my own options?
Yes. Build and save the wheel on Fortune Wheels, then use its share link as the iframe source. The embed loads that exact wheel, and updates if you edit it.
Does the embed work on mobile?
Yes. Use width 100% and a height of around 600 pixels so the wheel stays usable on a phone screen.
Why is my embed showing as a blank box?
Usually a collapsed height, a Content-Security-Policy that blocks iframes, or a CMS block that strips HTML. Use a dedicated Embed or Custom Code block and give the iframe an explicit height.
